Valentine’s Day

W hen the subject of the need for a class to teach people how to make better graphics first came up I was hanging out in the Tiki Hut. Since I am a Teacher at OWU and had been helping a lot of people with making the cards in Party I offered to teach a class in it. Because Valentine’s Day was only and week away and I had been wanting to do something special for it, I came up with the idea of contest to help motivate people. I thought it would help to give some goals and examples to do while they were learning the methods of Paint Shop Pro. Your Heart’s Desire Valentine’s Graphics Contest was held in Party with $20,000 in VR dollar and a special OW T-shirt with the winning entry on it as the prize

I chose Paint Shop Pro because it was shareware and readily available for everyone to download, that way as many people as possible could have a fair chance in the contest. The class was held on Saturday February 7 1999 and I gave individual instruction to many citizens the following week. They all got a better understanding of the methods to express their creativity to make OW a more beautiful place.

There were so many wonderful enteries it was very hard for our panel of judges to decide on a winner. Melodi’s card was the only one we could all agree on because we all liked her poem. I would like to thank Sharsee,  TEXAbeth and Patrick for all their help with the contest. Also all the citizens for participating.
