The Fun Run

Fun Run!

By Trish

Outerworlds had it’s first annual Fun Run on May 22, 1999.  The object of the run was to find 2 hidden objects in 10 different worlds and two special objects, and be the first to email the answers.  The Fun Run team was led by TEXAbeth and her merry elves, Darcy, Dago, Max, and Trish, but none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for the wonderful and great support of many other special people like CRZHorse for the objects and Argon for the Special Fun Run av’s, to name a few.  (Anyone omitted is an oversight of the author of this article and she apologizes).

Great fun was had by all and even some moments of frustration (hehehe), but everyone did a wonderful job of trying to find the objects.  Before the race began, there was a contest where people could guess how long it would take the first person to finish the Fun Run.  These two activities combined produced numerous winners, and we are all proud of their achievement.

There were prizes for both the Citizens and Tourists.  Our Tourist prizes were a one-year free citizenship to the first two tourists to complete the Fun Run.  The lucky winners were Cooldude and First Speaker, so the next time you see our newest citizens, give them a pat on the back for their hard work.  There were two Special Objects hidden (one of which I’m yet to find), and the two lucky people that found them were BlueRose and Juliet.  Their prizes were 10,000 vr dollars.

We had a special prize that went out to the whiniest participant, and the winner of that managed to whine and complain “you can hide the objects anytime now Texa” within the first hour of the race (hehe), and she is Queen Bee.  She won 10,000 vr dollars, (who says complaining doesn’t get you anything?  Hehehe).  Our top winners for the event were Bow and Dancing Fox , Bow won 10,000 vr dollars and a special OW T-shirt, and Dancing Fox won 10,000 vr dollars and an OW Poster.  The winner who guessed the closest to the time that the first person would finish was Snow Dragon, and he won 10,000 vr dollars.

The Fun Run Team would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the winners for their enthusiasm and participation.  We look forward to more wonderful events like this in the future.
