By LittleCupid Well with the Outer
Worlds Universe growing and more people registering, so does the Entertainment! Entertainment Downunder was just a "thought" on paper (or should I say email) back in December 1998. The whole idea was to
"liven" up the New Zealand and Australia timezones as it was the quietest time (and still is)! LOL. That was how Entertainment "Downunder" came to being. We only had games at 6:30am VRT which was between 7:30pm and 9:30pm NZ and OZ time. The next challenge to face was to find the people to PLAY these games! LOL. Then the
next idea came from SeeRay to have the games running in the U.S. timezone, which then came another challenge, finding hosts and hostesses. Then 10 days later in the planning of Entertainment Downunder, I faced a
crises where I couldn't be online as much. What to do, what to do. I decided to start training up the people for the midnight VRT games and so the show was back on the road again. 21st December was the day we
started the Entertainment Schedule that was in place at that time. It was decided to only have the midnight VRT games as there weren't enough people at the 6:30am VRT games in the NZ and OZ time.
The schedule was: Monday - MIDI MONDAY - VR$10.00 for each correct answer Tuesday - TRIVIA TUESDAY - VR$5.00 for each correct answer
Wednesday - BATTLE OF THE SEXES - VR$200.00 for winning team Thursday - KNOW THAT AVATAR - VR$5.00 Friday - DODGE THE EJECTION - got to eject! LOL Haven't we come a long way? The beginning of March came another challenge. To add another timezone for U.K. and Holland. 12 March 1999 was the beginning of
a long search for host/hostess to run three timezones. Yes, we even brought back NZ and OZ timezone, the timezone that started it all. *wink wink* Then the Saturday night Radio Show started and soon
was moved to Friday night (was I happy) but alas, some people were not happy that there Dodge the Ejection game was cancelled, so Entertainment went from 5 days to 6 days! Wooohooo!!! April came and it was
the creation of "Battle Moods" in MOODS world. Thank you Sampa and Katy. And it was our first move from IMAGICA world to POWER94 world for Midi Monday. Btw, for those of you who don't know,
Midi Madness was the very first game we ever had from what I can recall. Then we head into May - gosh time goes fast when you're having fun - and it was decided to cut out NZ and OZ timezone again
*sigh* It was also another addition to the Entertainment Schedule - OW Church! We started with Bible Trivia and to my surprise (no offense - *wink wink*) Rocketchild went to the top of the class!
So Entertainment was now seven days a week and in two timezones. Then on top of that the WVRR shows grew too! From the Friday Night Party Show to seven shows a week and some twice a day!
Wooohooo!!! There have been a lot of highlights from the games. From a tourist interrupting the Battle of the Sexes game claiming he was going to kill himself if he didn't get an OW citizenship to
Alphabet Soup needing a sign that says "Viewers Discretion - some words may offend" LOL. And I seriously wonder if we need to change the rating of these worlds sometimes! Then there are
just plain "funny" moments like the time where I asked "What are the first names of the 6 main characters on the American TV series 'Friends'?" And the replies came in all sorts of shapes and
sizes!?! Rocketchild:dopey, doc, sneezy.... Splitenz: ...sleepy, Doc and Pauly shore Tranthum: Larry , Curly, Moe, Harpo, Groucho, and Chico
Simon Says: john, ringo, Paul, george... Or "What do you call a hammer with a large, wooden head?"
Queen Bee: peacekeeper??? Um.....wrong! LOL. So if you haven't
tried any of the games yet, they are a lot of fun and we have AWESOME host/hostesses running them. My thanks go to past and present host/hostesses: Argon, bleudragon, bow, brittbear, Chant, dago, procras108er, River
Phoenix, Rocketchild, Sir Challagar, Splitenz and tigerlinnie. My thanks to all of you who play the games and make them a lot of fun. If it wasn't for the host/hostesses, there wouldn't be any games and if it wasn't
for the citizens, there wouldn't be any fun. God Bless You All! Luv Little Cupid ;-))) |
