In the 1500's: The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt, hence the saying "dirt poor." The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh on the floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they kept adding more thresh until when you opened the door it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entry way, hence, a "thresh hold."

A little birdie told me: That a new Teen World is formulating. The newest OW world will be something special, fun, exciting, and classy for teens. There will be a teen center, around it will be a ride section, games section and possibly a teen bank. Stay tuned for further details coming soon.

Major held an open Building contest in his world, Barracks, in September. Congratulations SandWalker, Nicholas, and Lt AlbinoVulcan!!!
SandWalker took first place with a wonderful house, with an open airy feeling to it. Great build Sand!
2nd and 3rd were respectively taken by Nicholas aka CleaningTips and Lt AlbinoVulcan.

In the 1500's: They cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes the stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while -- hence the rhyme, "peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old."

It's great to see so many familiar names in OW News. I can't believe I missed OW's birthday! Arrrrggghhhh. I at least try and visit on that special occasion.
Errr, I had to drop school for this semester. I got quite sick and was showing all the signs of burn out. So I will look at picking it up again next year if I'm feeling ready for it.
Work had been very stressful also, but now I have an Assistant. LOL! So my workload is halved now and I'm starting to feel better again. :-)
Good to see the Entertainment still happening. I can't believe people are still enjoying the same games. heh heh. What is the top game now? Still Alphabet Soup? ;-)
Well, give my love to everyone, especially Danii and Bow. Great to hear from you and I hope to visit sometime soon.

It was a sign of wealth that a man "could bring home the bacon." They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and "chew the fat."
