SPORTS WRAP

FANTASY NASCAR

What a month it's been in fantasy land, fantasy Nascar in Sports world that is. A big welcome this month to our newest player Dukes.

The results so far with only 3 races remaining in this segment are as follows, Hippie still holds his lead this month over a hard charging Leglizhemp in second position with only a very small gap back to Micho and Kat in 3rd and 4th. Mystery D, Id Ho and GentlemanJ fill the 5th, 6th and 7th spots with nothing between them. Kip, Dolphin, Red4now, REXC, Shaggy and Dukes round out this steller field.

With only 3 races till the end of the first prize segment I’d love to be able to predict who will take the spoils, but it's way to close to call.  With only 1 bad week, a player can fall faster than a stack of cards on a windy day. So it’s excitement to the very end of the segment, but hey, then we get to do it all again for another 10 race to find the 2004 Outerworlds Nascar Bar Champion and mabee even get a winner for the Lifetime Citizenship prize.

ATHENS 2004

As mentioned in last months newsletter, Sports World has a great building set aside just for the Games of The 28th Olympiad in Greece. Feel free to check it out and mabee learn a thing or two as the building is packed full of Olympics history and information.

The Athens Challange Fantasy Compitition see's GJ holding the lead from Micho, Leglizhemp, Hippie and Leylach but this is changing daily. No prizes on offer in this one but sometimes playing for Fantasy Pride is enough lololo.

New Bot

Hi there,

Xor has been working hard on a wee program that lets an AI chat bot enter OW. The bot is an Alice bot and it gets its brain from files called AIML files. There are lots of resources on the web that will allow a botmaster to make completely different personalities for their bots. The bot can be used for so many different things. Hello Likee:

I'm Xor, the owner of the world Xoria, and of late the evil bot creator in the OW development group. I'd like to see if it is possible to get an OW Users Group started locally in the Houston TX area. If you would consider putting something about that in the Newz, perhaps there would be some users here locally who would be interested.

Meeting online and exchanging ideas has been helpful for me, and I hope that any knowledge I have been able to impart to others has been found useful to them. However, meeting face to face and having the opportunity to discuss in depth how to build, or create bots, or any of the other technical issues which come up, could be very useful as well.
