To allow Banner Ads in Norton ‘Internet Security’
(Internet Security is used for this example. Firewall product may be slightly different)
- Double-click the icon in your system tray to open the Norton Internet Security window.
- Under the System Status find and click the words ‘Ad Blocking’, which should indicate it is ‘On’
- In the right side panel, click on ‘Configure’ near the bottom
- UN-check the ‘Turn On Ad Blocking’ checkbox.
Note: You will probably need to clear your ‘cache’ from your web browser, also. I know I had to. Don’t worry, this is only all the internet junk that gets saved to your hard drive anyway, and cleaning it out occasionally happens anyway as Internet Explorer has limits on disk space it is allowed to use.
To clear your Internet Explorer cached pages
In Internet Explorer, go to:
- Go to the menu Tools | Internet Options
On the General tab, and in the second ‘section’ titled Temporary Internet Files, click the middle button titled Delete Files. This will delete all the cached pages you have viewed.
- Don’t delete All Off-line Content. It isn’t necessary.
- Now if you use the Refresh button, you should see all the fabulous OuterWorlds Mall Stores!
To restore your Norton settings, merely reverse that checkbox. You may still see the Mall ads/links even then, until your cache fills up again.
